Current Favourite Makeup Picks

Hey Everyone, hope you all are having a great day. I decided to share some of my favourite makeup products with you and I also added mini reviews and comments about each. I hope some of you find it helpful and keep in mind that these are just my personal opinions.

Mac Chatter Box (left) & Kinda Sexy (Right)
Lately I've been liking the Mac amplified lipstick in Chatterbox (left) which  is a really pretty pink, kind of a darker barbie pink. The colour is vibrant on the lips and there is no need for a lip liner or gloss.
My favourite Mac lipsticks are the matte ones and Kinda Sexy (right) was one of my picks that I would never regret buying. It is a kind of a pinky-nude colour that I think would be suitable for many skin tones. It is very long lasting as well.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden

Having oily lids, primer is definitely a must before applying eyeshadow. The Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden allows your eyeshadow to stay on throughout a hectic day and gives a pop to vibrant eyeshadows without any creasing.

Mac Rice Paper Eyeshadow

This is my most used eye shadow, great for everyday. It is a gorgeous golden colour thats works well as a base and is very easy to blend. It can also be used a subtle highlight on the brow bone or tear duct.

Urban Decay Naked Palette
This is definitely one of those products I have a love-hate relationship with. Although I don't use every single colour in the palette, there are some that I cannot live without. I usually reach for the matte shades and I mostly use Virgin, mainly as a highlight and Naked and Buck as transition colours. Sin, Sidecar and Toasted would be my shimmer picks.

LOréal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black
If ever you see me wearing eyeliner, it will definitely be winged eyeliner and this is just perfect for that. It gives an intense, perfectly shaped line with a glossy finish that is sure to get you noticed. The felt tip allows for very easy application. This is surely my favourite liquid eyeliner.

LOréal Voluminous Smouldering Eyeliner in Black
I use this mainly for lining my waterline, tight line, and sometimes to create that dramatic cat eye effect. I find it really bold and creamy and so it applies very smoothly and I don't have to apply a lot.

LOréal Telescopic Mascara (Top)
Maybelline Falsies Volume Express Mascara (Bottom)

The LOréal Telescopic Mascara lengthens your lashes like no other. Although my natural lashes are fairly long, I use this to add an extra kick. With a very slim brush, barely any product goes a very long way. For a bit of volume I like to use the Maybelline Falsies Volume Express Mascara along with  the LOréal Telescopic Mascara. These two combined creates my desired look: length + volume.

Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer
For just $5, I could not go wrong with this face primer. After hearing so much about it, I just had to try it out. After applying, it allows your foundation to glide on smoothly and makes it very long lasting. However, I would not recommend this to those of you who have oily skin.

Mac Mineralized SkinFinish Natural Powder in Medium Dark (Left)
Mac Pro LongWear SPF 10 Foundation in NW40 (Right)
The Mac Pro LongWear Foundation has become one of my holy grail makeup products, even though the colour I have is a bit too warm for me. It gives a great, medium coverage and is not heavy or cakey, although I don't think I'll be wearing it in the hot summer days. It is very long lasting if set with light or translucent powder. I chose to set this with the Mineralized Skin Finish powder and this gives a  flawless, matte finish.

Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powe
I've learnt that this is a great dupe for the Nars orgasm/laguna duo which I find to be very overpriced. For just around $3, I decided to try it and I am very impressed with the colour payoff even though I have a very warm skin tone.

Revlon Nail Enamel
Make Mine Mango 920 (Left)
Minted 85 (Center)
Bewitching 620 (Right)
I've been reaching for these three colours over the past month or so after discovering Revlon nail polishes. For a drugstore brand that is not at all pricy, I must say I was very impressed with the finish of them. My most favourite is the Minted and I have gotten a lot of comments while wearing it.

Warm Hues

I decided to head downtown to have lunch, do a bit of shopping and mainly just to stroll around and enjoy the beautiful sunshine we were having in Toronto today. It was a perfect spring day to end my exam period and to bring out these bright trousers. I paired it with a denim vest that I thought would be ideal to bring out the colour. Here are a few shots taken before I left:

Getting My Scrub On

Hi Everyone,

I finally made my first visit to Lush Cosmetics about two to three weeks ago and since I enjoy exfoliating my skin and find it very important to do so, their  scrubs were an eye catcher. After looking around the entire store, the Rub Rub Rub shower scrub was one of the items I added to my little basket that was given to me by a lovely associate. She explained that Rub Rub Rub was a scrub loaded with natural ingredients and fine mineral-rich sea salt and swore that it'll give me a good scrub, and well, I like it rough! :) After trying it out on the back of my hand, there was no doubt that I had to get it. It exfoliates really well, not too gentle but not too harsh. So far i've been using it twice a week on my face and body and it leaves my skin feeling unbelievably soft (even up to two days after), fresh and hydrated to the point where I want to keep touching myself... my face! aha. It also replenishes my skin well, it leaves a little glow after use. On top of that, I'm in love with the strong mimosa blossom and citrus scent. I find it very uplifting and it lingers on the skin even hours after applying.

The only downside to this product is the packaging. It comes in a jar/pot which makes the product difficult to get out in the shower, and as a result, I find myself using too much at once. It costs around $20, which is quite pricy for a scrub and even though I don't use it everyday, I'd really like to avoid wastage. It is super runny and i think a bottle with a pump would be ideal packaging for this product. Regardless, I will definitely be repurchasing Rub Rub Rub even though I love trying out new products.

I think I'm becoming a huge lushie :) Here are some photos:

Movie Night

    Hello Everyone,
Last Friday I had a fun filled night with my cousins at the movies. We all wanted to see The Hunger Games, just to see what all that hype was about, and I loved it! Even though it was a bit predictable at some points, it's a great film. I'm not much of a reader so I'm not one of those to make a comparison between the film and the book. I'd like to share my outfit with you and although it's still chilly here in Toronto, I am anticipating Spring, my most favourite season of the year. So here it is, and btw my feet were almost numb walking back to the car aaha :)
